For today’s Model Spotlight I’m excited to bring you my “baby bear” Taneka Jo

This up and coming model hails from Sacramento, CA and measures in at  34-27-38.  Keep an eye out for her, this  girl is working hard to make her dreams come true!

What are your goals within the industry?

I want to be known as the humble & sweet but get down to business woman.  I am here to learn and also be smart about my decisions in this industry because once your reputation is ruined you’re pretty much not respected anymore.

What are 3 facts about you that most people don’t know?

I have a phobia about birds, I’m allergic to strawberries & I am kinda hood LOL

What is your secret weakness or guilty pleasure?

French Fries is my guilty pleasure I try and stay away from them but I give in all the time.

What is your definition of sexy?

Sexy to me is being confident within yourself no matter what, sexy in a dress, tank, lookin bummy if you give off that confident vibe when looking any of these ways you’re sexy

What makes you stand out against other models in the industry?

I think my personality I am a HUGE goof and I bring that spirit to the set so I am joyous to be around.

What inspired you to pick up the camera and begin your journey as a photographer?

I like capturing moments and images because I feel like moments in time don’t exist… As soon as you get to that moment, it’s gone..  It’s never stopped in time, the moment doesn’t exist.  You never just are, you are always becoming something…  That is why pictures baffle me because they really capture that split second…  I like the shock value of capturing a moment, and expression, a feeling, an emotion..  And beyond that you are creating a memory…

What inspires you to keep picking up your camera?

I find it entertaining and liberating to create something beautiful..  For me it goes beyond the camera, I love the process of editing the picture giving it it’s own flare…

Who do you look up to in terms of their photography?

Um… Well, I like pornographers… I think they caught onto something special there…  I like the shock value! They capture something that most people wouldn’t even think of!  The oh my moment!  That is what you should be capturing with your camera..  The moments most people don’t expect…  The expression, the feeling..  So many different nuances and differences that you can be captivated by…

Describe your favorite/ideal kind of model/scene/subject…

A very beige sandy beach with overhanging palm trees…  With a rising sun, but facing west…  A beautiful hazy blue sky, right at the break of dawn on a beautiful beach…

What is the next level you hope to grow your photography/art into?

I don’t have a goal…  What I do, I do to entertain myself…  If anyone else wants to look at it..  it’s flattering, but it is what it is for me…

What are your goals within the industry?

Besides having my name out there, I want to open my doors to different venues in the industry, maybe in marketing, or work on a magazine.  I’m looking to expand my options for a future career.

I am very picky, very ambitous and believe in enjoying the movie I’m making.

“Fulfilling a Final Request”

The weekend of July 30th-Aug 1st I took a road trip with my mother to help her fulfill a final request to her late husband, my step-father, who in the short time I was blessed to have him in my life became my dad….

I can’t say much except it was emotional, beautiful, hard, amazing..  All in one and more…  I’m still putting the pieces together in my head, but it all felt good…  Along the way I took a lot of pictures, so enjoy the visual journey through this time in my life…
